I would like to file for an uncontested divorce

Anonymous Asked:

Hello!
I found your services on the net. I am currently living abroad (Croatia). I have a (soon to be ex) wife in Toronto. I use to live in Ontario for 19 years. We have been apart since 2010. She requested a divorce from me in 2012 (still have the e mail). However, it's been 3 years now, and still no paperwork. I would like to file for an uncontested divorce.
What are the fees I would incur, since I live abroad, and what info and paperwork would you need from me. She still lives in the GTA area.

Under the Divorce Act you are entitled to commence a divorce Application in Ontario as long as she has resided in Ontario for at least one year. The fact that you live in Croatia does not prevent you from seeking the divorce in Ontario, once again as long as she has lived here for at least one year.

We would need your photo identification and the marriage certificate. If you do not have the marriage certificate then we can order it, if you were married in Canada. In terms of fees I would first have to speak with you; however we offer a flat rate arrangement for uncontested divorces. You can contact me through this website and we can schedule a SKYPE call to discuss your situation. https://divorce-canada.ca/divorce-brampton-ontario. There is no charge for such a call.

(The information provided above is general, not legal advice, as circumstances vary from case to case. As well, generally speaking, the above information relates to Ontario law. Thus, if you wish legal advice that you can rely upon for your specific case, or if you are making inquiries where Ontario law may not apply, please contact Douglas Briand for a free consultation).
