My ex-husband and I filed for a consumer proposal when we were newly separated. We have been separated for three years now. Our agreement clearly states that I have no financial responsibility towards repayment of the proposal. My part was the truck, which is almost paid off. I would like to apply for a student education loan. Will I be able to qualify for education assistance? We will be filing for divorce in the New Year.

Hello,

Without seeing the Agreement, we cannot comment on same. You contact the authorities from whom you wish to obtain a student loan regarding your ability to qualify for same.

A lawyer can process a divorce for you.
