My wife and I were married in Quebec but we've both been living in Panama for 6 years. While down here our marriage as turned sour and we've been separated for over a year. We both agree to divorce but don't know if we can do it from here or if we will have to go back to Canada?

Canadian law requires that either spouse be resident of a particular province for at least one (1) year to be allowed to file for divorce here. You can nevertheless get a divorce in Panama that can be recognized here in Canada insofar as most countries recognize the principle of one (1) year of residency to be allowed to file for divorce in that country. I would recommend you consult with a legal practitioner in Panama to know what the exact requirements are for filling a divorce in that country and how to go about obtaining your divorce.
