me and my spouse have been separated for well over a year and are both on board with getting divorced i have heard in some places that we can both go together to the court house and sign papers pay the fee and basically be divorced almost on the spot. Is it true that we can get a quick divorce?

A: Not true. Obtaining an uncontested divorce order takes any where from 5 months to 12 months on average (depending upon how busy and backed up the particular Registry is in which the proceeding is commenced) from commencement until the order is granted regardless of whether it is a joint application or an application by just one party ( to which the other party does not respond).
