Well I'm an Algerian woman & i'm married to an Algerian man with a Canadian nationality who lives in Montreal,Canada, he applied for divorce this year here in Algeria after we've been legally married since oct 20th 2013, he lives in Canada like i said before & me in Algeria. He abused me mentally,he treated me poorly with no respect for women rights & when i stood up for myself, he applied for divorce like a revenge. & when he applied I recognized that he was married before and he did the same thing because all he wanted is sex & money from applying in the immigration service of Canada to bring me or her (the first wife now divorced) to live with him there.. I heard that after I got accepted from the government of Canada but didn't get my visa from Paris,France yet,he was receiving money on my behalf as his wife in Canada (if its true like I heard) all this time.. He told me I've nothing of Canada's material ,But I have my degree he does not, I do speak English he doesn't, I'm younger than him by 14 years so he is old, immature & sexist ... So my question is : can I ask for divorce in Canada & how can I make him pay for all the hurt he caused me just because I'm a woman & he is a man???
