An uncontested divorce generally costs in the range of $1500 to $1800 inclusive of fees, most disbursements and taxes. The timeline is anywhere from 5 months to about 18 months (depending upon the Registry backup time for processing divorces). Your ex will need to be personally served with the Divorce papers or you will need to obtain an order for substitutional service (service upon a sibling parent or relative of his, or service by email, by publication in a newspaper, and/or by posting in the local Courthouse) at added costs to you.
