Child.Custody

Anonymous Asked:

If two people with children get a divorce and get shared custody of the children, is there a law or anything in the fine print that entails one of the divorcees to prevent their children from being around the other divorcee's new partner (if there are no safety concerns)?
Also, does the reason for divorce affect child custody (if one spouse claims that the other cheated.but has no proof)?

Regarding new partners, there is no law prohibiting or limiting contact between children of separated parents and a new partner. If the new partner poses a danger to the safety of the children, then the other parent should consult with legal counsel regarding an appropriate course of action.
