I have respectfully and responsibly been paying child support for 13 years. My 2 children are now 16 & 18. Neither are attending school at a reasonable level. 75% or higher absentee rate. The mother is not communicating with me. I respect that my daughter is 16 and wish to continue to support her however my son is 18 and this creates my question.
Can you point me in an affordable direction?

Answer: I need to know whether you have a signed Separation Agreement or Court Order. That will determine what must happen in terms of the support issue, if you wish to either reduce or eliminate it.

As a matter of general theory the support payor (based on your facts this would be you) is obligated to pay child support for children who are enrolled full time in school until the conclusion of a first post-secondary degree/diploma.
