What's the next step to obtain a divorce?

Anonymous Asked:

We have signed separation agreement, resolving financial matters and division of assets, with the witnessing lawyer signature.
We don't have children together, and since July of this year we live in separate houses.
I remained to live in our house and the title has been transferred to my name only, she moved to live on property in another province which is in her own name. I don't have any claims against her, neither did she as per signed separation agreement in July.
What would be the next step to obtain a divorce in this case?

Thank you,
JM

Answer: We can issue an Application for an uncontested divorce anytime that you may wish. A Court Order (called a Divorce Judgment) is required. Feel free to call me at: 866.557.3222 for a free consultation.

(The information provided above is general, not legal advice, as circumstances vary from case to case. Thus, if you wish legal advice that you can rely upon for your specific case, please contact Douglas Briand for a free consultation).
