Can I move with my kids due to employer relocation ?

My employer has relocated. I want to move there with my children. I can now afford a house. New location is 50 minutes from their Dad ; my ex. He is telling me it is too far for him to pick up / visit with his children.
He has a reliable car and does not work. Iknow the move would be in the best interst of the kids.
