I am separated from my husband but i am not legally divorced yet. I am looking to buy a house with my new partner but I do not want my ex to attempt to come after my house when we get a divorce.Can he do this? Is it a better idea to continue to rent until the divorce is legalized?

Any assets purchased AFTER separation (not divorce) are not shared with the other party. Is there a separation agreement in place? If not, it is best to get one done anyways. In any event, this would be a post-separation purchase and he would not be legally entitled to it, but if you have not resolved the property issues etc. by way of court order or separation agreement, you should do so immediately.
