I inherited my fathers farm. Now I am having a sale and selling my home. I have been legally divorced for 9 months and my ex now wants a trust fund set up for my sons and wants half of everything I get from the sale. Can she do this?

The answer is almost certainly “no.” Inheritances are “excluded property” for the equalization of net family property. As well, I take it from your question that you received this inheritance after you divorced. However, given that you have not provided sufficient detail in your question, the most that I can say is “probably not.” If you telephone me at 866-557-3222 for a free consultation I can provide more guidance after asking you a few questions.
