My daughter is 13 years old and lives with me full time. Her father is from the UK and has decided he no longer wants to financially support his daughter anymore. Although he was giving me 750$ a month for the last 9 years he felt that with this money he had rights over my personal life (who I could date, full access to my house etc.) We were never married and he did not support or acknowledge our daughter for the first 3 years of her life. When she was three he had a change of heart and decided to get to know her. He would come to Canada and visit with her, bring her to England to visit his family and take her on vacation wherever he wanted. I made life very easy for him and I felt a relationship between the two of them was important. He comes from a very wealthy family and he himself has many assets. My daughter is ADHD and last summer I spoke with several doctors and it was decided she would take medicine for her ADHD. Her father disagreed and because it was not s situation he could control he decided to punish me by stopping payments for his daughter. Although he acknowledges her as his daughter he has never signed the birth certificate so is known as undeclared. Is it possible to make him pay child support if he lives overseas? If so, how would I go about this? My income is below 20 000. a year and I am the sole provider for my daughter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you-

Child support is based on the filial relationship between the parent and the child. In order to receive support from the father you will firstly need to have the Court recognize him officially as the father. This is done by petitioning the Court for such using whatever proof you may have such as correspondence, witnesses, travel confirmations, authorizations and eventually, if necessary, a DNA test.
