Can they renegotiate our pension?

Once a company pension is split between partners when they divorce, can one person change their mind and request the pension back? This couple lived together for 23 years and married for 7 years. They want the pension back because they feel the other couple should have only received 7 years of the pension.

Answer: You have raised a complicated issue. It may be possible to deal with the effects of the pension split, however I first need to know if there is a signed Separation Agreement or Court Order.
