Can I apply for my husband's abroad property?

My husband owns property in his country of origin (bought before our marriage), it costs about 80000 CAN. I am going to file the divorce application. Can I apply for part of this property?

Under Quebec law the net value of property acquired before marriage is excluded from partition. In this situation you would not be entitled to receive any share in your husband's property.

However, your marriage contract or the law, if you were domiciled and married in another country, could nevertheless award you portions of your husband's property. You should verify if this situation applies to yourself.
