Can my husband lock me out of his house ?

my husband and iare having some problems and constanly telling me to get out of his house he own the house before we get married he also locked me out of the master bedroom and hide all the tv controls in the house can he leagalley do this.

Answer: No, he cannot do so. Without a Court Order, or a signed separation agreement, you have equal legal rights, which include the right to live in the home and have the use of the household items. As the home is in his name, please note that there is a limitation period of 6 years from the date of separation, or 2 years from the date of divorce, whichever comes first, to make a claim for the equalization of net family property, which would include his solely owned home.
