cancel medical coverage

I am separated after 21 years of marriage. I am diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder and I take four different medication. My medical insurance is under wife’s work policy. Can she cancel my coverage?

Whether or not you will continue to be entitled to coverage pursuant to your wife’s policy depends on the terms of the policy. For example, some policies recognize a “separated spouse” as a “spouse” while others do not. Usually once there is a divorce and you are no longer a “spouse” you would no longer be entitled to coverage. I suggest you review the terms of the policy.
